Writing Crowned in Silence was not just a creative act; it was personal. I never set out to write a mafia romance, but I’ve always been fascinated by characters who exist in the grey areas of morality. The kind of people who live with secrets, make impossible choices, and fall in love when it’s the most dangerous thing they could do.
The idea first came from a simple concept: what if someone faked a relationship to escape a stalker… and accidentally dragged a much more dangerous man into the mix? From there, the characters took shape. Dominic arrived first; cold, composed, and carrying the weight of his legacy. Amy followed, soft-spoken but not weak, and with her own fire beneath the surface. What started as protection turned into power, and what started as a lie grew into a kind of love neither of them could have predicted.
I wrote Crowned in Silence for the readers who crave emotional tension as much as physical heat. For anyone who’s ever loved quietly, fought internally, or hidden their strength to survive. Amy’s silence isn’t weakness, it’s armor. And Dominic’s darkness isn’t cruelty, it’s survival. The story allowed me to explore trauma, power, healing, and trust in a world where both characters have been taught not to trust anyone at all.
More than anything, I wanted to write a book about two broken people who don’t fix each other, but grow strong enough to carry their own damage, and still choose each other anyway. That’s what love looks like in my books. Not perfect, not easy, but earned.
